Professor Jayantha P. Liyanage specializes in Industrial assets, Systems, Processes, and Operations at the University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway. He has earned B.Sc. in Production engineering (First Class Honours, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka), M.Sc. in Ergonomics / Human factors (Distinction, Luleå University of Technology, Sweden), and PhD in Offshore technology (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway). Professor Liyanage is the Program Director of the 2-year master program on Industrial asset management, and the Experience-based executive Master program on Technology and Operations management at UiS. He had been the Chair of the University-Industry cooperative Cluster for Industrial Asset Management (CIAM) for almost 15 years (2004-2018). He had also been a Guest Professor of Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia, and University of Cincinnati, USA. He served in the Board of Directors of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Stavanger section with specific role as a Scholarships chair (2007-2015) and also was elected to the Board of Directors of the Norwegian Ergonomics and Human factors Society (NEHF). In addition, he has been a member of the Standardization committee SN/K 536 on Asset management, and SN/K 569 Revision of Management systems with Standard Norway. Dr. Liyanage was the Co-Chair of the European Network for Strategic Engineering Asset Management (EURENSEAM) involving approx. 15 European countries. He has been in the Working Group (WG) on Advanced maintenance engineering, Services, and Technology of IFAC (International Federation for Automatic Control), and honorary member of IFRIM (International Foundation for Research in Maintenance). He is a Founding Fellow of the ISEAM (International Society of Engineering Asset Management). He has actively involved in a number of R&D and joint industry projects for decades both in advisory and managerial capacities. He has considerable experience in Advisory capacity of Masters and PhD projects, and has been an Examiner of a number of PhD dissertations, both national and international. Professor Liyanage has published more than 200 publications. He is an editorial reviewer and a member of international editorial boards of a number of international journals and the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Strategic Engineering Asset Management (IJSEAM). He had been a Keynote Speaker in a number of International Conferences, and was the World Congress Chair of the 13th World Congress on Engineering Asset management (WCEAM-2018) held in Norway in 2018. For his performance he has received a number of prestigious awards inclusive of University of Peradeniya Award for the Best Performance in Engineering (1995), Colombo Dockyard Award for the Best Performance in Production Engineering (1995), The Overall Best in Masters (1999), Lyse Energy Research Award for Excellent Research and Academic Contributions (2001), Society of Petroleum Engineers Best PhD Award (2003),Emerald Literati Club Award for Excellence (2004), Regional Ambassador Award (2014), Regional management and information Award of Society or Petroleum Engineers (SPE) (2017), and Outstanding Achievement Award of International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM) (2018). Professor Joe Amadi-Echendu earned BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Wyoming, USA, and DPhil in Control Engineering from University of Sussex, United Kingdom. He currently serves as a Professor of Engineering and Technology Management at University of Pretoria, Republic of South Africa. He is the founding Director of the Institute of Engineering, Technology and Innovation Management at University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Professor Amadi-Echendu commenced his career as an apprentice maintenance technician at a tyre manufacturing facility, and his expertise is underpinned by his doctoral research in digital signal processing, condition monitoring anddiagnostic engineering management of physical plants and processes. He has over 12 years industry work experience, as well as 25+ years academic experience in USA, UK, Nigeria and South Africa. His extensive experience and interests cover the broad fields of engineering and technology management with particular emphasis on the management of intellectual assets, engineering technologies, equipment, machinery infrastructure assets and facilities. While working in industry, He primarily implemented "operational readiness" programmes for green field capital development projects in petrochemical and mining sectors. His current teaching and research activities are focused on engineering asset management and technology commercialisation, as well as supervision, mentoring and coaching to masters and doctoral students and entrepreneurs engaged in technology-based business start-ups. Professor Amadi-Echendu has published over 150 articles in journals and accredited international conference proceedings, as well as chapters in, and editorship of three books. He continues to present keynote addresses at local and international events and his involvement in community development, professional and scholarly activities has been recognised through many local, national and international awards such as best paper, distinguished service, excellence, and leadership awards. He is registered as a professional engineer in both the United Kingdom and South Africa. He continues to provide consulting advice and training to private and public business organisations across several industry sectors. In addition to external examination of master and doctoral degree dissertations at local and overseas institutions, and review of manuscripts for a number of journals, Professor Amadi-Echendu's concurrent roles and scholarly activities include: (i) Founding Editor-in-Chief for Springer's Engineering Asset Management Review Series; (ii) Founding Fellow, Director and Chair of International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM); (iii) Board Treasurer of the International Association for the Management of Technology (IAMOT); (iv) Chair of Board of Trustees of Society of Engineering Asset Managers of Nigeria; (v) 'Experienced Researcher', EU grant funded H2020-MSCA-RISE Sustain Owner Project 645733; (vi) member of Research Panel, South Africa National Roads Agency; and (vii) member of technical panels of long standing international conferences namely, COMADEM, IAMOT, PICMET, IEEE TEMSCON and WCEAM. Professor Joseph Mathew is the CEO of the Asset Institute and an Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. He has been the key facilitator behind the Institute's transition in 2013 from the Cooperative Research Centre for Infrastructure and Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM II) and its predecessor, the CRC for Integrated Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM I), a collaboration which he led from the outset. He was previously Queensland University of Technology's Head of School in the School of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Medical Engineering. Prior to arriving in Brisbane in 2000, He was Monash University's Professor of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering and was Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was also the Executive Director of Monash's Centre for Machine Condition Monitoring from 1993-1999, a research centre that he co-founded. He is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in academia, academic administration, research and research management, and consulting. He specialises in asset management, integrated frameworks and systems for asset management, as well as condition monitoring, diagnostics and prognostics of machine systems. He is one of the two founders of the International Standards Organisation's Committee on Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics of Machine Systems (ISO TC 108/SC5), which he chaired from 1996 - 2014. He also initiated the International Society ofEngineering Asset Management (ISEAM) and the World Congress on Engineering Asset Management (WCEAM) in 2006. He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by ISEAM in 2017 for his exceptional dedication and contribution to advancing the field of Engineering Asset Management and also a Pioneer award by ISEAM for his foundational contributions to ISEAM as its Founder and Chair of the Board in its first 11 years.
