John "Divine G" Whitfield is the real live person Colman Domingo plays in the movie Sing Sing. He is also the founder/owner of Divine G Entertainment. He is the author of numerous published urban action-adventure novels, including Enigma of Love, Money Grip, Baby Doll, No Other Love, etc. He is also the winner of several PEN American Center awards and the 2008 Tacenda Literary award for best play. Divine G was also an Executive Producer on the movie Sing Sing and made a cameo appearance in the movie as a Book Fan who asks himself (Divine G is played by Colman Domingo) for an autograph of his novel Money Grip. Divine G also hosted his own Internet Radio Show (The Divine G Show) http://www.spreaker.com/show/the_divine_g_show and worked as a Carpenter on Lil Wayne's 2013 AMW Tour.
