Meantime, Lindsay faces death in a fierce blizzard on a remote and unknown world. When she is rescued by a darkly mysterious man, she learns that he is running from the authorities and is consumed with revenge for the death of his wife. Lindsay awaits rescue from her family, but appears stuck in a fightening and primitive world.

As each woman battles her own demons, dark truths begin to emerge. What really happened to their mother? Why can't they return to original Earth? What blind truths drive their father? And who has the right to play God within the multiverses?

And through it all the Super Machine Kellen stands watch, learning and evolving. Is he friend or foe? Is he capable of taking sides?
