The Epic of Ira is considered one of the classics of ancient Iraqi literature. It has become part of the oral folklore of ancient Mesopotamia and its neighboring regions. The Epic of Ira is considered one of the classics of ancient Iraqi literature. It has become part of the oral folklore of ancient Mesopotamia and its neighboring regions. It seems that it gained great attention and appreciation at the time, so much so that the educated people at that time (most of whom were priests) recited it continuously, and paid great attention to it. By writing it down. Various tablets of its texts were found throughout Iraq and the Near East, and some of the numbers and pendants that were found were used as amulets to repel evil. This unique literary work left its clear intellectual imprint on some Greek epics and Old Testament texts, and there is no better evidence than the British Assyriologist Wilfred Lambert's description of the poem as "one of the epic masterpieces of Akkadian literature." It is a creative work distinguished by its embodiment of reality and life, through its use of vital religious symbols. He highlights it through the text, which is imbued with the spirit of a historical stage that has a social and political specificity, so that it stands worthy of the great Iraqi epic works: Gilgamesh, Atrahasis (rich in feeling), and Enuma Elish (when on high), as it is no less rich in literature and rhetoric, and as a poetic-theatrical work. Rasin, we hope that he will one day find his way to the Iraqi stage. The epic was contained almost complete in five clay tablets in the Akkadian language. It was translated from that language into German and Italian by the Italian Assyriologist Luigi Gianni (1969-1970). We are pleased to present the Arabic translation of the English version of this epic (Undena House edition) by Dr. Muayyad Saeed Basim Al-Damarji and Mrs. Soha Ahmed, with a comprehensive presentation of it, supported by important analyzes and comments, which in itself constitutes an integrated study published - for the first time - to provide the Arab library with another rich contribution from Iraq and its people to humanitarian thought.
