This article is devoted to the search for an answer to the question posed by Erich Fromm as the title of his work: "Wolf or sheep man?" Fully agreeing with E. Fromm regarding the need to find out, conditionally and allegorically speaking, the "wolf" and "sheep" in the human essence, however, we cannot allow ourselves to agree with Fromm's conclusion about the existence of such an allegedly immanent, i.e., internally a quality inherent in people, as "the willingness of people to risk their lives, to sacrifice their love, to give up their freedom and their own thinking just for the sake of becoming a member of the pack." We do not call our Reader to become our accomplice and like-minded person, we invite Him to think. Translated into Ukrainian by Yaroslav Myshanych.
