Ernest Hemingway is an American short story writer and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. He began his life as a newspaper writer and war correspondent, then moved on to writing literature, including short stories and long stories. Among his most famous short stories are: "The Snows of Kilimanjaro," and among his long stories are "The Sun Also Rises," "For Whom the Death Bell Tolls," "A Farewell to Arms," and "The Old Man and the Sea." Hemingway is considered one of the greatest writers of his time on stories, and he was greatly influenced by his journalistic work and by the war. He was influenced by and wrote about both, even though he treated the subject he dealt with in his stories from his own angle. Hemingway acknowledges the thanks of journalism to him, but he always said, "Journalistic work is a direct threat to the faculty of literary writing and literary creation.
