Karen Loy is the daughter-in-law of Ernest. This is her first book. She originally wrote the book to capture Ernie's memories of World War II before it was too late. Finding there was a lot of interest in the subject, she decided to publish the book. Karen is a registered nurse, working nearly forty years before retiring.
