William MacLeod Raine (June 22, 1871 July 25, 1954), was a British-born American novelist who wrote fictional adventure stories about the American Old West. Rex Ellingwood Beach (September 1, 1877 December 7, 1949) was an American novelist, playwright, and Olympic water polo player. His adventure novels, influenced by Jack London, were immensely popular throughout the early 1900s.Clarence Edward Mulford (3 February 1883 10 May 1956) was the creator of the character Hopalong Cassidy and who wrote many works of fiction and nonfiction. Zane Grey (1872 - 1939) was an American author and dentist best known for his popular adventure novels and stories associated with the Western genre in literature and the arts.
