This volume explores the role that European institutions have come to play in regulating national prisons systems. Tom Daems is Associate Professor of Criminology at the Leuven Institute of Criminology (LINC), KU Leuven, Belgium. Luc Robert is a senior researcher at the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology (NICC), Brussels, Belgium.
