Autorenporträt

Rachel Lu is a 9th grader in northern California. She has been working on this piece since the beginning of eighth grade. The reason she wrote this story was to portray that during World War II, many people suffered, including the common people. For the most part, the story is written through the voice of a younger age Kerstin, about the same age as Rachel. Publishing a book was Rachel's dream ever since third grade, and now she is excited that she is finally able to do so.
