Kim Westerman, originally from North Carolina, moved to Tucson in 1990 to pursue an MFA in poetry at the University of Arizona. She stayed for 16 years. She's now based in Berkeley, California, but she visits her old stomping grounds when she needs a Mexican food fix and unmitigated sunshine. She is married to food journalist Carol Ness.
