Autorenporträt
Nivaldo Alonso Graduated in Medicine at Escola Paulista de Medicina (1978) and Ph. D in Clinical Surgery from the University of São Paulo School of Medicine (1992). He is currently head of Craniofacial Surgery Service of the Plastic Surgery Discipline at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine. Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, Discipline of Plastic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, USP. Past president of the Brazilian Society of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery from 2000-2002 and 2006-2008. Medical director of the non-governmental organization, Operation Smile, from 2004 to 2011, and former president, between 2004 and 2005. Member of the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery since 2013. Dr. Alonso has great activity in the area of implementing global surgery as an essential element in primary care in health. He is also head of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery team at the Hospital for Rehabilitation of Craniofacial Anomalies in Bauru-USP (HRAC-Centrinho) and coordinator ofthe Craniomaxillofacial Surgery medical residency program at HRAC (Bauru), University of São Paulo. Member of the Global Medical Advisory Board Smile Train International since 2019.

Renato da Silva Freitas

Graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Paraná (1990), specializing in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the University of São Paulo, Master in Plastic Surgery at the University of São Paulo (1997), PhD in Plastic Surgery at the University of Sao Paulo (2003), Post-Doctorate at Yale University - USA (2008). He is Associate Professor IV at the Federal University of Parana, Coordinator of the Discipline and of Plastic Surgery Service at UFPR, plastic and craniofacial surgeon at the Center for Integral Care of Cleft Lip and Palate, former President of the Scientific Committee of CAIF, Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery 2009-2012, member of the editorial board of the Brazilian Journal of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, President of the SBCP- Regional Paraná 2016-2017, Regent of the Cleft Lip and Palate chapter 2012-2015 and Vice-President of the Brazilian Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery - biennium 2010-2012.

Cristiano Tonello

PhD from the Clinical Surgery program at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Medical residency in Otorhinolaryngology and Fellowship in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery by the Discipline of Otorhinolaryngology, Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (USP). Craniofacial surgeon and Otorhinolaryngologist, he serves as head of the Hospital Department of the Hospital for Rehabilitation of Craniofacial Anomalies, University of Sao Paulo (HRAC-USP), Advisor of the Postgraduate Program at HRAC-USP, Preceptor of Medical Residency and Specialized Complementation at HRAC -USP. Professor of Medicine, University of São Paulo (FOB-USP).
