Dixie Burkhart was born, raised, and continues to live in southeast Iowa with her second husband. She has children, grandchildren, and an extended family. She was a state bureaucrat for 17 years, worked in financial services for more than 20 years, was involved with a radio station for five years. She holds a BA from Iowa Wesleyan College, an MS from The American College, and a Ph.D. from Walden University. She also holds several professional designations including chartered life underwriter and chartered financial consultant.
