Take my hand and let me tell you about my grandma... At the tender age of eight, Marie loses her parents. Left as an orphan, she also begins to battle a world of darkness. Marie develops Retinitis Pigmentosa, a progressive form of blindness, and is sent to Faribault School for the Blind where she spends the majority of her childhood. Constantly searching for a sense of belonging, Marie finds hope and love for the first time in her adult life. As Marie learns to navigate a sightless world, she marries, has children, and starts to live the life she has always yearned for. In a series of unforeseen events, her life begins to fall apart. Her husband deserts her, leaving her with no income, a threat of eviction from the converted gas station she calls home, a daughter battling a life threatening case of polio, and a fourth child on the way. Marie is left to cling to her faith. God delivers. What happens next is nothing short of a miracle, the very best of humanity on display. "For we live by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7
