To avoid, to just maneuver one self in order to miss the blow that had been the strategy to dodge any pain, which in the long run (I now see) was counter productive to life and love and the eternal glow of nostalgia.

Autorenporträt
Alex Alvarez was born in Boston but raised in Miami. He is of Cuban and Colombian descent. Alex majored in English at the University of South Florida and concentrated his graduate studies on Henry James at Florida Atlantic University. Immediately after graduating, he spent two months traveling Europe and then settled for a month in Poland where he discovered the germ for his first novel, Warsaw Central. Alex relocated to New York City in 1999 and taught English at a Brooklyn high school. In 2005, he left teaching to pursue his personal writing. He now lives in Chicago.
