The chapters in this volume focus on parents' abilities and choices regarding investments in their children. Parents differ in terms of the resources they have available with which to invest, the choices they make, and the behaviors they engage in. Questions posed in this volume address the extents to which child investments derive from resources relative to behaviors, how resources and behaviors are related and allocated and whether they can compensate for one another.
