Nsofor Ugochukwu Godwin was born on the 5th of March 1985, in Anambra State 'Umunankwo' in Eastern Nigeria. His family belonged to the Igbo tribe, and he is the third of four children. Ugochukwu was brought up as a Christian, but he remained curious about the more traditional Nigerian faiths, most especially Igboland cultures, norms and values. He is an artist who employs a formalist approach in the use of everyday materials (the junk and jettisoned) to create narratives that explore socio-cultural, religious and economic concerns. His technique is inspired by traditional architecture, crafts and contemporary 3D animated images. He was educated at a government college in Ogbaru, Nigeria, and graduated from Anambra State University, Nigeria, in 2009. He obtained a BSc in Banking & Finance and also took a short course at the Akademik Studio Of Art, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.
He is now pursuing a second education at USIU (United States International University Africa) in Nairobi, Kenya, where he is enthusiastically involved in painting, sculpture and kinetic moves. He believes that art can tell more than the verbal and uses his writing to paint pictures.
