ABBY HAIGHT wrote for The Oregonian for twenty years after joining the staff in 1990, and was one of the first to report on Tonya Harding. J.E. VADER joined The Oregonian as a sports columnist in 1993 and has covered figure skating for publications such as Sports Illustrated and The National. THE OREGONIAN, based in Portland, has been published since 1850 and was one of the first to break the Tonya Harding story and at the forefront of reporting subsequent developments in the case.
