Since 2014, the author has been creating the "Afternoon Book," a series of novelettes or short novels that can be read on a smart phone or reader in an afternoon. This series is known as "Global Rescuer Stories" and includes ebooks titled: "The Majorca Egyptian Affair," "Rape Day Wednesday," "Darlene," and "Tubers Daughter." Lon's hobby is self publishing. He controls all phases of the publishing process, including the cover art. Lon started writing books after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF) contracted from a flu virus in 2004. In 2005, he authored his first book from research work titled: ¿Kissed By Death: Congestive Heart Failure,¿ centered on patients surviving CHF. During his assignment in England in the 1990¿s, Lon¿s hobby was writing stories about a paramilitary organization that he created known as Air Rescue. As a pledge to himself after being diagnosed with CHF, Lon published his first action-adventure book titled: ¿Two Sisters of Kuwait¿ in 2006. In 2008, the author updated and reformatted the ¿Kissed by Death¿ book and issued a new version titled ¿Kissed by Death II: Congestive Heart Failure.¿ In 2010, the author released a second Air Rescue Book titled: "The Girlfriend I Almost Lost.¿ In 2011, the author changed focus to ebooks and converted the two previously printed Air Rescue Stories to ebooks. Then, he embarked on publishing a new series of ebooks called "The Saga of Global Rescuer Series." The first in the series released was ¿Flight of the Gunships,¿ a story about Air Rescue pursuing a terrorist to the United States with three homemade atomic bombs. It was during this period, the author published free on Smashwords ¿Kidnapping Madam President¿ and The Tripoli Mission¿ to promote his work. In 2012, a second ebook in the series was published: "I Earn My Keep." It¿s a story about a New York business lady bidding a three billion dollar contract and kidnapped by competition in Paris and rescued by Air Rescue. Also during the year, the author published an Epub version of "Kissed by Death II: Congestive Heart Failure" on Smashwords. In 2013, the third ebook in the series titled "Mission Red Rock," a story about Thunderbrit and five commandos stealing a hovercraft and rescuing 300+ passengers. In addition, the author published free "The Story of Air Rescue" for his customers who had questions about Air Rescue and its clandestine ship, Global Rescuer.
