Autorenporträt
Ricki Brathwaite is an 8-year old writer who loves to write about her life experiences as well as creative children's topics. Ricki has been interested in writing since the age of three. She began to formulate words at the age of four. One of her favorite authors and illustrators from whom she learned to sight read is Mercer Mayor. She loved to identify what the words were saying from pictures. She is exceptionally creative and seeks to solve the world's issues from the perspective of a candid 8-year old. Ricki was observed by her teachers as a gifted writer and was one of three children selected to a write an article for a local magazine, The Loop, which is in circulation in the Lewisville, Texas area. She writes about her at-home experience during the COVID pandemic. Ricki prides herself in doing her best, which is displayed in her grades as an honor roll student and is further motivated by her love and desire to write heartfelt stories as she sets her pen to paper. If Ricki is asked what makes her believe she can be an author, her response is: "Love of writing...Time I put in to write...and Faith I can do it."
