Trevor Griffiths (1935-2024) was born in 1935 in Manchester, England and educated at St Bede's College and Manchester University. His plays include 'Occupations', 'Sam, Sam', 'The Party', 'Comedians', 'The Cherry Orchard', 'Oi For England', 'Real Dreams', 'Piano', 'The Gulf Between Us', 'Thatcher's Children' and 'Who Shall Be Happy?'. His TV credits include 'Adam Smith', 'Bill Brand', 'Sons and Lovers' and 'The Last Place on Earth'. His screenplays include 'Reds', which received an Oscar nomination and a Writers' Guild of America best screenplay award, and Fatherland (directed by Ken Loach).
