This poetry collection is quite different from my previous five collections. I have woven mythology and a personal narrative together in this collection. It is largely inspired by the ancient Sumerian myth/poem of goddess Inanna's descent to the Underworld. The tale depicts Inanna's visit to her sister who is queen of the Underworld. Along the way Inanna must shed all she's wearing until she arrives naked at her sister Ereshkigal's throne room. I encourage you to read and research for yourself the rest of the story but I will also be covering the main story in my creative interpretation of the myth and epic poem. The collection begins in dual perspective, with Inanna's POV in brackets/strike-through and the personal narrative underneath Inanna's POV. So for the dual POV poems, you can take them as 2-in-1 and read Inanna's POV then the personal POV and vice versa. For the personal narrative, this covers most of what happened to me over the last year, dealing with subjects of love, sadness, and loss.
