Michelle V. Madsen is a teacher of children with emotional disorders in California. She lives with her husband and a menagerie of rescued animals, and enjoys writing and spending time with her children and grandchildren Michelle Madsen grows up in a Mormon family that looks picture perfect on the outside but hides deep secrets behind closed doors and in the dead of night. After having an emotional breakdown, Michelle is forced to encounter her childhood through the onslaught of memories she has repressed for so many years.
