Rafael Sabatini (1875-1950) was an Italian-English writer of romance and adventure novels. He is best known for his worldwide bestsellers: The Sea Hawk, Scaramouche, and The Odyssey of Captain Blood. After a brief stint in the business world, Sabatini went to work as a writer. It took him roughly a quarter of a century of hard work before he attained success with Scaramouche, a historical romance set during the French Revolution, which became an international bestseller.
