Issues of ethnicity, race, LGBTQ+, identity and others which are so prominent in the world today prompted the writer to try his hand at writing an interesting story with characters who do not have explicitly named genders, ethnicity etc. and this story is thus an experiment. Mixed in are also issues of aging, as the author is also considering that personally. The author's own extensive camping experience also is drawn on for the story.
