Autorenporträt

Syrel Dawson, a retired teacher of thirty-five years, heard many tales from children and always enjoyed telling stories to augment classroom instruction. She took Just Write It, a course offered by author T. M. Murphy, and was instantly inspired to do just that: write. Since that fateful class, some of her work has appeared online on Cape Cod Pulse. Her memoir, "The Last of the Undaunted," was published in On the Water magazine in February 2015. She has also read her work at Salon of Shorts at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. Syrel lives in Falmouth, Cape Cod, with her husband, Mick, who has encouraged her along the way.
