I was having a bad day. My girlfriend dumped me, my dog was sick and now my boss called me in for an emergency meeting.

Fuck that shit!

I needed an escape. A release. I needed to run away to The Bahamas, plop my ass in a lounge chair by the beach and relax until I fell asleep.

But I couldn't.

I had - that dreaded word - responsibilities.

I didn't want responsibilities. I didn't sign up for this.

Speeding along the freeway, mumbling to myself about all the things I wanted to do to my boss right then, I didn't even notice the flashing blue and red lights.

Not until something aggressively rammed into my bumper.

"What the hell?" I yelled and turned the radio down. "What the ever living --" Then I saw it. The angry red and blue flashing lights of doom.

This was it! This was my chance.

I slammed on the brakes, nearly causing the police cruiser to ram into me. Squealing tires, hot smoke, lots of shouting.

Then, the officer - and her 9mm - in my face.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing? You could've gotten us both killed! I oughta shoot you right here and right now for that. Now get the fuck out of the car with your hands up!"
