Rob Buckingham experienced a dramatic conversion from atheism to Christianity in his late teens and early twenties. Since then, he has been devoted to following Jesus and helping others do the same.

Rob has been involved in pastoral leadership for over three decades with churches in Sydney and Melbourne. In 1992 he pioneered Bayside Church in the southern bayside region of Melbourne. Over the past 30-plus years, it has become an influential church in Melbourne and beyond.

In addition to church ministry, Rob is a well-respected part of Melbourne's media community, having worked with Easy Music 3MP for 15 years, as well as Melbourne's Christian radio station, 89.9 The Light. Along with radio, Rob has a background in Television and as a voiceover artist.

Rob's passion is to engage his Christian faith with issues of justice in today's world, including, but not limited to, standing up for those on death row, asylum seekers, orphans, prisoners, the poor & homeless, and how environmental change affects the most marginal people.

In 2022, Rob completed a post-graduate Professional Supervision diploma from the University of Divinity.

Rob has been married to Christie for 29 years. They live in Bayside, Melbourne, with their three daughters.
