A basic rod and a lot of patience are all you really need. Once you have mastered the art of staying still and waiting for the fish to bite you will find that fish start to bite.

Whether you are a weekend angler or someone who fishes for food or for competition, the more you learn about the sport the more options and variety you will find in it. Freshwater fishing is what you make of it - thrilling, relaxing, competitive, educational, social or tranquil. The choice is yours.
