Richard C. Smith, writer, poet Richard Smith is a veteran of the US Navy and the Korean war. He has been writing since the age of eleven, mostly small stories for school, until later years, then he started writing for numerous newspapers. He has been writing poetry since 1985, and in 1987, he started reading at open mike sessions, doing the first four in Las Vegas.
