Ann Melton grew up in the small southern town of Sylva, North Carolina. She earned her doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina and retired in 2000 as a public school superintendent. Ann is the author of seven award-winning nonfiction books. She lives in Waynesville, North Carolina, and is the mother of two and the grandmother of five.
