Christie Pashby, author of this edition and of many previous editions of Frommer's guidebooks to the Canadian Rockies, lives in Alberta, Canada, and has spent years exploring the Canadian Rockies. She holds a BA from McGill University and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of King's College. In addition to writing countless travel guides to Canada, Pashby is a part-time employee of the respected Banff Mountain Film Festival. And she is the mother to an active toddler who loves to hike, ski and bike as much as her parents.

Christie Pashby is a writer, editor and translator based in the Canadian Rockies and in Patagonia, Argentina. Christie was born in Toronto, and lived in Berlin, Germany and Nice, France during high school. She went on to attend universities in three Canadian provinces. She has a BA from McGill University and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of King's College. She has been writing guidebooks for Frommers since 2001, covering Argentina, Chile and Western Canada. She also runs a boutique travel company called Patagonia Travel Company Ltd, works part-time at the amazing Banff Mountain Film Festival, is working on a novel of historical fiction and is the mother to an active toddler who loves to hike, ski and bike as much as her parents. Christie resides in Canmore, Alberta, Canada
