This short story is about my experience with the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. This event involved preparations and arrangements made by my grandmother who was the matriarch of the family. She practiced her Indian beliefs with a blend of Catholic rituals as well. As a child I enjoyed participating in the Day of the Dead and all the activity associated with it. Running, playing and smelling the candles as well as the food and music all add to the vivid memories described within. I also have learned since my early age how important is for most Mexican people to honor their departed loved ones on the second day of November every year.
