Hi folks! I am a Clinical Aromatherapist that understands chemical do and do nots. The mistakes people were making with their recipes on YouTube is what has prompted me to make this book. It covers Armatures, cement & clay recipes with clickable links to YouTube tutorials for each project. I'm not good at making videos but I feel they will assist you. Be mindful of my age. xx
As a child I made Garden Art with my family. At 76 years of age, I decided I needed a new craft. I tried resin work and did not enjoy the smell. Therefore I decided to make garden art. People do not want to add more things to their homes. Often while buying plants, I noticed the joy people had deciding on what statue to put in their garden. I now live in a very small townhouse therefore, I can only make small pieces. With a 65-year gap in making these cement projects, I felt compelled to do a load of research. Sharing is caring. I am sharing my knowledge with you. I pray it helps some folk make some money. It is such a blessing to know in advance the way to make long-lasting art with integrity. I contacted several cement and concrete manufacturing technical departs to gain more knowledge on additives to make the statues stronger and the cement more malleable. I purchased a few pieces at various stages in my life and a few pieces have disappointed me because they did not last for long. It is important to build a customer base of people who trust you, because your statues are strong, and have a personalized touch to each individualized piece.
In this book we will cover:-
1. Small garden art between 4cm (1 and 1/2 inches) to 70 cm (28 inches) in height. With descriptions of building the frames for larger statues.
2. Different cement recipes
3. Different air-dried clay recipes
4. Armature types for each project
5. Setting out your worksheet
6. Lean different approaches to the method.
7. Most of the dos and don'ts to working with cement and air-dried clay.
8. What destroys and weakens cement/concrete.
