The study of history in Europe, it seems, shapes its methodology out of a demarcation from non-European tendencies and thus misses the chance to clarify its own richness and to be able to introduce new arguments in a globalized field of discourse. It is time to understand European history as a multiplicity of mixing processes that have taken place through Europe's parts and through the continent's global inclusiveness since antiquity. And although this historical guiding category has been denied, repressed and concealed, historians should dare to explore precisely these connections and interminglings and find new examples.
