Produktbeschreibung
When her aunt's lawyer proves her charges false, Reanne is released from prison into a world in which she is no longer invested, and doesn't recognize. Her short stint was enough to gain her sobriety, but can she hold on to it while she copes with the loss of her mother and father, who both passed away while she was incarcerated? Aunt Abby's intentions are good - as she picks up Reanne from prison and takes her to a salon to get the perfect haircut for all the job interviews she has set up - but is she smothering the newly released inmate? When Reanne meets hairdresser Harriet, the two connect through their shared disgust for the small town and its gossip spreading sewing circles. Reanne sees that they have a lot more in common than that, and discovers her own freedom to escape from the surroundings that hold her back. She'll confront rumors and hearsay, battle with addiction and dependence, struggle with codependency and different kinds of recovery, all on her way to becoming free. Before she can get out from under her heavy past, Reanne must face a tattered childhood in her abandoned family home. She soon learns that freedom comes in many forms, and is never outright, it must be fought for. "It was impressive that Harriet had become such a confident person, in spite of her surroundings. Reanne would have to do the same if she wanted any semblance of happiness or independence in her future. Something was holding her back, though, the way a boulder blocks up a stream after a mudslide. The stream can't flow freely until someone comes along and helps you move the boulder."
