The mighty Nile River begins in Africa. It is a strange river that differs from most other rivers in the world. It originates in central and eastern Africa and then heads north for a distance of approximately four thousand miles. Sometimes it penetrates rocky areas, and at other times desert areas filled with sand hills, and continues to flow in a winding line, bending sometimes to the right and sometimes to the left, trying to reach the sea, and when the river fails to cut its course in the rocky areas, it rushes and jumps over the rocks to... Falls body. There are six of these small waterfalls in its course. When the Nile River becomes approximately one hundred miles from the Mediterranean Sea, it becomes wide in its course and divides into several branches, independent of each other, and continues its course until it empties into the Mediterranean Sea. The slower the river's flow becomes, the more opportunity there is for the silt it carries from the south to settle on the ground. Over thousands of years, this alluvium formed new land, through which the river penetrated in several branches. The number of these branches in very distant times was seven, but at the present time there are only two. The land through which these small rivers penetrate was called "Delta" because it resembles the Greek letter Delta "¿", and the Nile River is a peaceful river that does not like aggression.
