This novel gathers the details of its stories from life experiences lived by atypical characters with a lot of uniqueness, suffering, and vision of the world, from Abdel Rahman Al-Nadi, the broker, the memory of the city and its godfather, to Dr. Saeed Al-Rifai, who unknowingly attended a party at the Israeli liaison office in Rabat, to my bright mother, The old woman who was abandoned by her children, to Arafa Al-Warzazi, who committed suicide after suffering with his French wife, to Hajj Al-Raydi, the real estate owner, to Ibrahim Al-Sayyad and his stories with the sea, and to the poet Hassan Al-Dibaji, who is identical with himself and rejects authority. They are all characters that juxtapose and meet each other in the space of a city inhabited by secrets. In the midst of what we might call the biography of a place, and the biography of a society undergoing transformation. "The Glow of the Night" is a novel added to the works of the novelist Muhammad Ezz al-Din al-Tazi, through which he depicts the facts, monitors the details, and builds, through the novelist's imagination, the aspects of a vibrant society that lives with its social anxiety. However, it makes this novel marked by the poetry of a discourse in which the hanging gardens of poetry shine. There is no substitute for singing, the greenness of the heart, and beautiful sleepiness, through the songs of Hassan Al-Dibaji, the poetic voice that resonates with the sounds of the narration.
