This book shows that God's original purpose for us is inherent in creation and that His purpose is reaffirmed in redemption. We therefore exist to fulfil that purpose. Most Christians do not give sanctification a serious thought because they do not realize its importance in their new life in Christ and for the fulfilment of God's creative purpose.This book seeks to put sanctification in its proper perspective by showing that the old life of sin was not part of God's original purpose and can have no part at all in His final plan for His creation. Redemption is the cost of creation, for it is through it that the end of creation is realized. Sanctification is the means by which God brings the old sinful life to an end and through which the new life in Christ is realized, embodied and fulfilled.

Autorenporträt

The author holds a B. A. degree from Caribbean Wesleyan College and an M. A. R from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. He also holds an M. A. (Theol.) and a Ph. D. from the University of Manchester in England. He has served as Pastor, District Superintendent, and General Superintendent in The Wesleyan Holiness Church, Caribbean General Conference. He has lectured on a modular basis at Caribbean Graduate School of Theology in Kingston, Jamaica. He currently serves as Pastor of Calvary Wesleyan Holiness Church in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. He is married with two children. In the summer of 1998 he had to leave office because of extreme mental and physical exhaustion. The many years of time-out that ensued became the platform for spiritual renewal, training by the Great Teacher Himself, and the revelation of the spiritual direction of the church. These difficult and trying years have been richly rewarded by the experience of both seeing and hearing Jesus, and by inspiration to write this book during the last two years before his return to public ministry in 2008.
