Then someone close to her is attacked. Hettie is devastated and turns to her friend Sergeant Higgins for help. What are they missing?

When she stumbles on the answer she can't quite believe who it points to. But the killer isn't taking any chances. Hettie finds herself in a fight for her life. Will she get to see the opening of her new croquet courts? Or will they become her memorial?

Rennae Todd is the pen name of retired historian Irene Sauman. While Irene writes historical cozy mysteries, Rennae writes cozies in a more modern setting. But history has a way of creeping into Rennae's stories sometimes too. Which shouldn't be surprising. After all, everyone has a history, haven't they? Irene's history (and therefore Rennae's too) includes growing up on a vineyard and orange orchard by the Murray River in New South Wales. Now living in Western Australia, Irene has three children and four grandchildren, and a sister who beta reads her books for plot holes and to see how quickly she can solve the mystery.
