Karel Schelfhout est, depuis plus de trente ans, une personnalité reconnue dans le domaine de l'horticulture. Il a joué un rôle prépondérant dans la diffusion des techniques high-tech d'abord utilisées aux Pays-Bas avant d'opter pour la culture bio.

Il est aujourd'hui à la tête d'une entreprise innovante de recherche, qui fabrique et commercialise des engrais biologiques et des compléments pour le sol.

Il vit à Barcelone en Espagne.
