In this work, the author, who has degrees in philosophy and psychology, draws upon his research of scripture and the history of the early Roman empire. This is complimented by his own symbolic experiences and work with dreams, in which he attempts to reveal the symbols operative in humans and the deeper forces of the universe. Often, he has found that our heroism arises upon such encounters.
