We have to find the mentoring connection within our circles. Life is all about our relationships. Life is all about our stories, and the experience. The key is this . . . if you love yourself and work on yourself and do not accept failure as an ending, success is yours. The GPS destination is that if you love yourself, develop yourself, and believe in the process, you will be successful.

Markeith Wood, out of Newport News, Va., has been a mentor since 1996. He is an entrepreneur, a master barber, basketball coach, and a volunteer in the community. He is a son, a father, husband and a friend. He was born March 20, 1973, on the year that hip-hop was brought to the world. Life, basketball, and hip-hop! The last 7 years of his life, he has been learning, understanding, and living the principles of success, shifting his mind-set from just working hard to working hard with definite purpose.
