Roben Oaktrey is the author of three short stories in the Hailey series: First Show with Buddy; Buddy's Last Show; and First Show with Dusty. Roben lives in the Louisville area. He spent his early childhood years caring for horses.

It excited Roben when his granddaughter asked to change from participating in traditional sports to riding and competing in the hunter / jumper division.

Roben is a retired construction engineer and spends most of his time with his granddaughter during each practice and competition..
