This isn't what I pictured for my future.
I really do care about my boyfriend Charlie, he's been my best friend since we were teenagers. He's kind of my only friend. Which is why I said yes when he proposed. But when I imagined what getting married was going to feel like, I imagined it would be like it is in the movies. Full of passion, sparks flying, the intense feeling that you've found your soulmate. But I told myself that passionate love like that only exists in movies and books. That's how I dealt with the fact that I was settling.
And then I meet Audrey and I know that isn't true. Because she makes me feel things I never have before. All the passion I've dreamt of, I've found in her.
But what am I supposed to do about being engaged to Charlie?
I love my job at the bakery, I love my friends, I'm living a good life. But it would be nice to have a romantic interest in my life. In my small conservative town, I've already dated all the lesbian women that live here. And none of them really struck me in any significant way. My friends tell me the only way to meet more women is to move out of town but I can't do that. I've got the bakery here and I can't exactly move my successful business.
Perhaps I don't have to, though. Because it's in my bakery that I meet Madison. When her and her fiance come in to order a wedding cake, I become enthralled with her. And she doesn't seem too interested in ordering a wedding cake... or having a wedding. But she does seem interested in me...
Can I really explore something with a woman who is soon to be married to a man?
This is a standalone lesbian romance novel with HEA ending!
