Autorenporträt
Charity Morsey is a national security expert, professor, diplomat, and author. She has traveled to over thirty countries during her career and speaks five languages. She has a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Pepperdine University. Presently, Morsey volunteers as a motivational speaker at local women's shelters and recovery homes, and loves watching her two boys excel in life and in sports. She founded Generation for Freedom, a non-profit committed to raising up the next generation for lives of purpose and service through women and children breaking free from the chains of poverty and slavery. Growing up, Charity Morsey's parents ran a home for those in need. "I was raised to live out my name Charity through my life's calling," she says. Over the last two decades of her impressive public service career, Morsey has acted as the first special assistant on international affairs for the Science and Technology Directorate at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a senior policy advisor on nuclear nonproliferation at the U.S. Department of Energy under President George W. Bush. She also served as an analyst in the California Governor's Office of Homeland Security. It was through this work that she learned about the impact of human trafficking and slave labor on women and children, which inspired her to launch her own non-profit. Generation for Freedom is developing a safe house for survivors of human trafficking and other forms of slavery. They also provide services to reconstruct and restore lives, while cultivating a community that helps people rebuild their self-worth. Morsey says, "I'm inspired by the women who take bold steps to break free from the cycle of human trafficking. Freedom takes flight when we are empowered."
