His novel Game, about the bushranger Ben Hall, was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award and shortlisted for the NSW Premier's Literary Awards, the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction, and the Colin Roderick Award. He lives in Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains.
