Auralie's destiny is sealed.

Auralie Covington has been promised to a man she barely knows-the son of a wealthy plantation owner whose political connections with her father resulted in the arranged marriage. Although she dreads ending up like her mother-nothing more than an ornament on her husband's arm-she doesn't know how to change what she sees as inevitable.

Colton Danfield and his friend Barnabas-a free slave-work the land and raise sheep in the Georgia mountains. Amid rumors of secession echoing across the state, Colton's faith is tried and his heart is stolen when he encounters Auralie.

But even though their attraction is mutual, Auralie knows all too well that she and Vance are from two different worlds. Will they be able to see past preconceived notions and bridge differences to find love?

Autorenporträt

Connie Stevens lives with her husband of forty-plus years in north Georgia, within sight of her beloved mountains. She and her husband are both active in a variety of ministries at their church. A lifelong reader, Connie began creating stories by the time she was ten. Her office manager and writing muse is a cat, but she's never more than a phone call or email away from her critique partners. She enjoys gardening and quilting, but one of her favorite pastimes is browsing antique shops where story ideas often take root in her imagination. Connie has been a member of American Christian Fiction Writers since 2000.
