Autorenporträt
Rosa Antonia Carrillo, president of Carrillo and Associates, is an internationally recognized leader in creating transformational change with a focus on the safety, environment and health function. Since 1995 she has authored ground-breaking articles in the safety field and consulted in many countries across multiple industries on the topic of safety leadership. Edgar H. Schein recommended her book The Relationship Factor in Safety Leadership as required reading for anyone wanting to understand safety culture.

Rezensionen
"This is an important book detailing the core principles of organizational development state of the practice. As Carrillo correctly points out, the COVID-19 pandemic was a global event that cracked the barrier to significant systemic change. Moreover, we are still experiencing the changes from psychological 'languishing' to 'laying flat' and the great resignation phenomenon. However, the pace of change is increasing, and her book is THE field manual on navigating the turbulent social psychological waters. Although she and I perhaps use slightly different terms to center the need for 'safety and health concerns, our messages are the same. I wholeheartedly endorse her message that systemic thinking, integration of people and technical systems, and trust-based leadership are the critical ingredients to the new arrangement of people in time and space. Well-being is the goal and intentionally designing our social networks is the means to becoming 'future ready. Get this book, read it and meditate upon the wisdom. This one has got to go in your backpack for the journey forward."

Charles E. Grantham Ph.D., MSH, FAIS, APF

"When failures in your high-risk operation are intolerable, how will you ensure success? Like many, I've known for years that efforts toward strengthening diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging were vital to enabling success in our complex operations. Elusive as these pursuits are, in this book, Rosa shares insights and wisdom from a career dedicated to helping organizations meet these human needs. The techniques and tools are certain to help you sustain the ever-changing relationships and conversations that power our success at critical steps and beyond. Thank you Rosa!"

James Marinus, Co-author of Critical Steps, Operations, High Reliability and Resilience Consultant

"This book does a superb job of highlighting the significant issues and challenges that many industries and businesses are facing today. Rosa Carrillo has done an outstanding job of researching and shedding light on the causes of dysfunction in modern social systems. She deals with many topics that are not well understood and addressed in current organizational management practice - included in this is the evolving nature of change management, leadership and employee engagement. The author masterfully deals with the role and potential of leadership and relationships to address the complex issues at the heart of organizational performance. This book is a highly significant contribution to the literature on developing human potential and has much to offer to practitioners, scholars and organizations by providing expert insights into where changes are needed and where solutions lie. I highly recommend it."

Brett Read, Co-author of the Amazon best seller, Safety Performance Reimagined.

"This book supplies the missing pieces for a holistic safety program. In particular, the discussions around Psychosocial Hazards (PSH) and the real impact they have on a safety culture were eye opening."

Matthew Coward, Team Lead, Former Nuclear Power Plant Refueling Outage Manager

"Rosa Antonia Carrillo has penned a remarkable book. She has taken the often-misunderstood concepts of Psychological Safety, Engagement, Diversity and Equity and with data as her guide turned these charged ideas into common sense leadership tools. The book is clear, to the point, and agenda free. In a world characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, Health and Safety Leadership Strategy will clear away the clutter and is a must read for anyone serious about leadership."
