Russell Herman Conwell (1843 - 1925) was a prominent American Baptist minister, orator, philanthropist, lawyer, and writer. As a Baptist leader, he is best known for his inspirational lecture, "Acres of Diamonds." He was also remembered as the founder and first president of Temple University in Philadelphia, as the Pastor of The Baptist Temple. His works written at the end of the 19th century revolutionized Christian thought in the United States and abroad.
